Loita Hills Walking Safari
In this loita hills walking safari package we will accommodate you in tents which will be mounted in the campsite right in the bush. This allows us greater access to remote areas and makes its easy to interact with the locals; learn there way of life.
All equipment is carried by local porters, you only carry a day-pack with personal gear. We normally boil drinking or use water purifying tablets.
You are welcome to participate in camp chores if you wish but it is not required. We buy fresh produce and other food locally, and to ensure high standards of hygiene; all food is prepared by our own staff. We can cater for special dietary requirements with advance notice, and there are no additional food charges during the trip.
Nairobi – Ndarara camp
Depart Nairobi and drive through the farmlands at the edge of the Rift Valley and descend the escarpment via to Narok town.
Proceed on to Maji Moto where the walk begins. Walk for 2 hours to Ndarara manyatta for lunch. After lunch 2 hours walk to the main Ndarara camp for dinner and overnight.
Ndarara camp – Letukunyi camp
Have an early breakfast and depart Ndarara to Letukunyi. The walk will take 5 – 6hrs through the scattered bushes; lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at the Letukunyi camp.
Letukunyi camp – Morinjo campsite
After breakfast depart Letukunyi camp for an enjoyable walk before the sun is too hot.
We will pass Narosora for lunch and shopping for essential that might be out of stock.
After spending an hour or two in this modern town in Maasai land, proceed to Morinjo for dinner and overnight at Morinjo campsite.
Morinjo campsite – Enkutoto campsite
Morning breakfast followed by departure. We will begin our hike by walking through the forest which is one of the few remaining true-forested wilderness area in East Africa.
The Walk will take you 5 – 6 hours; lunch en route. Dinner and overnight at Enkutoto campsite.
Morinjo campsite – Njoroi campsite
Today we have an easy morning; breakfast at leisure. Depart the camp by 10:00 O’clock and walk casually for 4-5 hours to Njoroi campsite; lunch en route arriving early evening.
In this camp there is an excellent view of surrounding areas which include Lake Magadi, Ngong hills, Lake Natron and all the way to Tanzania boarder on a clear day. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Njoroi campsite – Nairobi
After breakfast, descend down the Escarpment and through small farms to Nguruman town for transfer back to Nairobi via Lake Magadi and the Olorgasaile prehistoric site; lunch en route arriving Nairobi late afternoon.

The low-lying mountain range is located south of Nairobi and north east of the Masai Mara game reserve.
This area is rarely visited and as a result it is widely believed that the most traditional Maasai culture exists here. There are pockets of remote forests, wide open plains surrounded by the stunning hillsides and dotted with roaming wildlife.
This isn’t an area for viewing big game but more off a place to enjoy the scenery, walk with the local Masai and learn more about their culture and there way of life.
- Do not Litter the reserve/park.
- Do not feed the animals, i.e. monkeys or baboons.
- Do give the animals the right of way and do not disturb wildlife.
- Do not take any plant or animals remains, dead or alive.
- Do not start fires or throw cigarettes in the reserve.
- Do stay in your vehicle except at designated viewing points.
- Do not shout, laugh loudly, play radio or cassettes as this will keep away the animals.
- Do not provoke any animals its dangerous.
